Ben Ballweg
Ben Ballweg is the Director of Longevity Outreach for the U.S. Transhumanist Party, a position that he attained on July 17, 2021.
Ben Ballweg describes his motivation in that he "fears there is nothing after death, and thinks this fear can be channeled to doing what he can to avoid death. As aging is what he considers his biggest risk – at least until his age leads to a specific morbidity – he focuses on nudging humanity toward its solution."
Ben Ballweg describes his strengths as including "math, music, process perfection, writing, video, health science, customer care, and knocking on doors." He also notes that "He hopes to use that situation to help bring meaning to the universe, through having its living inhabitants be more than just a whole bunch of Etch-A-Sketches."[1]
Ben Ballweg has participated in numerous Virtual Enlightenment Salon sessions of the U.S. Transhumanist Party as a panelist. He was also one of the guests of honor at the Virtual Enlightenment Salon of July 25, 2021, where the discussion focused on improving the internal functions of the U.S. Transhumanist Party, attracting volunteers, and raising the visibility of transhumanist projects and causes.[2]
Ben Ballweg has been integral to providing editorial services for Virtual Enlightenment Salon descriptions, as well as adding timestamps to enable easier navigation of the Salon streams. Furthermore, he has actively promoted the Virtual Enlightenment Salons on the U.S. Transhumanist Party's LinkedIn page.
